Business Intelligence SIG: Massively Multiplayer BI
We will have two speakers this month: Shawn O'Connor, CEO of an early-stage startup called Timefire in Mountain View and Suzanne Hoffman, VP Sales at Star Analytics.
Shawn will give a presentation on Timefire and "Massively Multiplayer Business Intelligence."
Suzanne will give us an overview of what she learned at Gartner's BI Summit 2009 held in Washington, D.C. this week.
Massively Multiplayer Business Intelligence, Shawn O'Connor, Timefire co-founder and CEO
The first few phases of most business intelligence projects involve getting the data, deciding on some metrics, and generating reports. Usually that's followed by more data, instrumentation, and dashboards.
But even organizations with excellent business intelligence deployments face the following challenges:
- fully engaging their teams in collaborating for insight
- making more data-driven decisions, experimenting
- acting on ideas, insights, and decisions
The talk will cover these issues in the context of general industry trends as well as how we deal with them in Timefire's software and services.
