Tom is a founder of Bizlaw.com, a boutique law firm in SF focused on startups, angels and take-outs. Bizlaw works with CEO’s to implement legal strategies on contracts and funding deals that help new ventures succeed. Tom also is an active investor and Co-Founder of the Harvard Angels, the HBS global angel investment group. Tom also works with Accelerator Ventures in San Francisco and New York, running deal structures and operational matters for the fund.

Paula Groves, ACSBDC Business Services Director
As of April 2013, Paula Groves has taken over as the Services Director for the Alameda County SBDC center. Prior to this role, Ms. Groves served as the Lead Business Advisor for the Alameda County SBDC. Paula has over 15 years of private equity and investment experience and has helped generate over $85 million in returns to investors. Her experience includes working with start-up companies, firms interested in acquisition strategies and businesses seeking growth and buy-out financing. Having appeared on CNNfn and The Money Gang, she frequently speaks about private equity. In addition, Ms. Groves has worked with Leo Burnett advertising agency, and Twentieth Century Fox Film. She has also served as board member for several for profit and nonprofit organizations.
James Lee - Business Counsel Law Group (BCLG)
James is a co-founding partner of BCLG. His practice includes representation of corporations and other business entities in a variety of business transactions, such mergers and acquisitions, venture financings and other private offerings of equity and debt, formation of corporations and limited liability companies, project finance and various other general commercial transactions. James has significant experience representing and counseling energy, technology and clean-tech companies and serves as general counsel to many of his clients.
