Hospital and Physician Office Work Flows Relative to Healthcare IT

This is a session to discuss how care is delivered and how this relates to the design and use of information technology in hospitals, doctors' offices, and other patient settings. Not just electronic medical records, but bedside monitoring devices, remote monitoring devices (used at home or at care facility), and mobile applications (both for clinicians and for patients/consumers).

This is intended to help entrepreneurs and developers appreciate the context into which they would be introducing innovations. We plan to cover things like integrating software and devices with legacy IT systems, doctor-patient communications, collecting and disseminating clinical data, and (if there's time) revenue cycle management.

Following this meeting, we will be taking applications for a limited number of developers and entrepreneurs to attend a briefing and tour at a local hospital.
