  • Online Registration is closed --- please register at the door this evening. Thank you.

Come meet three Bay Area CEOs in the software sector who have recently raised a seed round of financing. All three companies have raised $1.5M or less. In addition, all the panelists are first time founders. The discussion will largely be driven by the audience. Some of the topics/questions we will discuss include, length of fundraising process, how they met their investors, any challenges incurred during the process, stage of product when they raised the round, attracting key team members, will they need to raise more money, did they raise a friend/family round, etc. The companies are either in the mobile or consumer sector, so we can also discuss the trends occurring in those sectors.

Klout measures influence across the social web.  We believe that every individual who creates content online has influence. Our goal is to measure that influence and make it even more effective.  Klout allows you to track the impact of your opinions, links and recommendations across your social graph. We collect data about the content you create, how people interact with that content and the size and composition of your network. From there, we analyze the data to find indicators of influence and then provide you with innovative tools to interact with and interpret the data.  Klout is a privately held company in San Francisco, California.  Joe Fernandez founded Klout to measure influence across the social web in early 2008 after spending nearly 3 months with his jaw wired shut and depending completely on social media for communication.  Fascinated with how one could now instantly broadcast their questions, opinions and ideas to the people who trust them the most, Joe started Klout to help businesses understand the impact of the individual.  Previously Joe provided data solutions to the Real Estate industry as Director of Innovation and Research at OnBoard Informatics. In 2003, Joe cofounded Evalulogix and helped over 5000 school districts meet their special education reporting mandates for compliance with NCLB and IDEA.  Joe grew up in Las Vegas and attended University of Miami and Oxford University.

SocialScope is a personalized lifestream that aggregates your online conversations, contacts and content. It helps you discover the things that are important to you by filtering out the noise based on context and preference.  Prior to founding SocialScope, Amit was an Associate at Crosslink Capital where he focused on early stage consumer internet and mobile companies. Before that, he was an investment banker in Bear Stearns' Tech Media and Telecom group where he advised the leading wireless and media companies including Verizon Wireless and NBC Universal.
